|
|
I have been reading up on Silver but was slightly puzzled by section 18(Paradoxes of Defence): | Quote: | There are eight times, whereof four are true and four are false. The true times are these:
the time of the hand,
the time of the hand and body,
the time of the hand, body, and foot
the time of the hand, body and feet.
The false times are these:
the time of the foot,
the time of the foot and body,
the time of the foot, body and hand
the time of the feet, body and hand |
I came to the conclusion that Silver was saying that the hand is the fastest, then the body, then foot, then feet and that it was not any other way. Am I correct in my assumption? _________________ Eric D. |

Eric
Yes, you are right. A true cut is one in which the hand starts moving before the body and the body moves befores before the foot/feet. A false cut is one in which the foot/feet move before the body or hands, or in which the body moves before the hands. It's just like in boxing, you don't want to tell the adversary you are about to throw a blow before you actually throw the blow. _________________ Ran Pleasant
