The Summer Test-Cutting Gathering!

Hacking, Slashing, Stabbing ...and a Picnic!

For: Official ARMA Members & family

When: Saturday, June 2, 9:30 am - whenever

  • Demonstrations of the effects of cutting techniques by different sword forms.
  • Hours of free-play fencing & sparring with assorted weapons

All ARMA Scholars & Free-Scholars will get to test-cut with sharp blades on a variety of materials including raw meat and armors! Come to Houston for a full morning and afternoon of casual fun, sun, and swords. Bring the kids and the family and bring your blades!  $20 per person or for family of 3.  Includes burgers, dogs, salads, chips, soda, and beer.

Bring: Swords (sharp or blunt even) for test cutting practice, wooden wasters, padded sparring  swords; similar knife, longbow, axe, and pole arm weapons; armor; wrestling gear. Water, camera, video, old phone books & cardboard targets to cut. Swim suit and towels, fishing pole, woodsman axes, machetes. Mosquito, heat, and Sun protection.

Objective: Learn and practice safe procedures for test cutting with long sword, cut and thrust, and rapier blades. Practice on cardboard, phone books, paper sacks stuffed with hay, plastic bottles filled with water, pells, and a large tractor tire. Green sapling tallow trees also available.

Where: Boswell Farms, 27923 FM 2978, Magnolia, Montgomery County. North of County line about 4.5 miles, past Diamond Shamrock and Exxon  stations. Before cellular antenna tower. West side of road at blue mailbox(which is on East side of road), chain link fence and gate, across from red sheet metal buildings on East, and before Southern Well Testing vessel yard also on East side.(assume traveling North).
