Two-days of informal and relaxed outdoor
instruction in Medieval and Renaissance
swordplay and fighting arts.  Personalized hands-on  opportunity.

Featuring:

Great-sword and Rapier & Dagger classes by Keith Ducklin – Senior Fight Interpreter of the Royal Armouries , UK and Director of ARMA InTheatre’s stage combat program. Keith will reveal the basis of his unique martial approach to arranged combat sequences and fight directing, as well as offer personal instruction.

 

JeffB&JohnC.jpg (35879 bytes)Special ARMA Workshop – Longsword Tactics and Free-Play sparring by John Clements. John will instruct in ARMA’s longsword system from Italian and German source manuals and how they apply to modern training through mock-combat practice for both one on one and group encounters. Dissimilar weapons (buckler, dagger, spear) will also be included. Material form ARMA Workshop 1.0 and 1.2 will be included for Member credit.

Foundations of European Dagger Fighting – Jeff Basham, ARMA Deputy Director, will teach in basic fighting techniques from a variety of source manuals.

Special Lecture presentations by Hank Reinhardt & John Clements – historical sword & arms expert. Mr. Reinhardt will give a unique talk on swords and historical combat with a few extra surprises.  John C. will present a lecture on the nature of rapier combat and wounds within 16th & 17th century urban street violence.

Special Activities will include: historical archery practice, spear & axe-throwing, test-cutting, pole-arm handling, and the opportunity to purchase replica weapons and examine actual antique arms!

 

Location: To be held outdoors at the private country home of Hank Reinhardt in rural Georgia just outside of Atlanta.
