Insights from Historical Artwork

Central to this illustration is the king with a lethal stab wound to the abdomen. In the lower center a sword sticks clean through the body and maile armor of a warrior. Below, arrows and a spear shaft pierce mailed bodies while a deep cut is visible in a fighter’s head. There also appears to be a head missing from the body on the far left.
