At long last I return, now I'm getting into MMA events

Most of you probably don't know me at all, and some of you from the Provo, Ut group may still remember me as "Crazy Mike" Its been over two years since I've been on, but in that amount of time I've been doing quite a bit in my life. I was in the military for two years (medically: honorably...

What do we have on tactics (including images)

Thinking of military movements where both sides are using melee weapons only. Do we have any resources that include graphic depiction of how a tactition would orginize his men? Keep me posted, thanks.

Re: New Type of Waster!!

I'm looking for a new waster, I wouldn't mind being a guinee pig <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Do you think we can get an image of it posted with it's specs?

<quote> Mike McGurk said: That is why I find it ironic that as time went on, swordfighting became seperated from fighting as far as duels were concerned. Re: Defeated by rapier...

Hopefully the following quotation will not be considered off topic. Considering the unsuccessful use of drama references, I'll move for a medical one. researching the effects of what a rapier may do to the body I asked my father, a practicing Chiropractor for suggestions. Following his advice I star...

Re: Battlefield or duelling?

I find it odd that we don't have manuals on tactics, if that is, in fact, the case. Also, what knowledge do we have of the actual procedings of the medieval, rennisance etc battlefield? Did it happen like it does in the movies with men run at each other like NFL linebackers trying to make a sack? Or...

Re: Battlefield or duelling?

I have an honest question: Would there be guards or strikes you could not use in [battlefield] combat in fear of hitting your allies? [the question assumes that in battlefield conflicts everyone would be bunched together. Would that be true or would everyone spread out? Not that their splitting up i...

Re: Pictures

Way cool. I'm not an expert, but I'd like to share my first impressions: When I first looked at the page, [the] first [thing] that came to mind were "officer swords" (not a legitmate term) I associate the civil war era with the thought for this reason: swords that were produced not for the...

Re: Defeated by rapier...

Just to add somecommentary to the interesting conversation: It wouldmake sense to find such accounts of deadly thrust damage amoung smallsword records, however the historical rapier would be differient from what people generally think of the weapon. Having a tip like that of a sharpen pencil and vir...

Re: Rehabilitation needed for two absence. (wrists)

Thanks for the quick reply, I'm not sure about the sprain, but won't rule it out. I've been working for UPS as a package handler since I got home (5 months), but usually my wrist stay pretty much in the same position the whole night. My bet is on the post that mentioned the legiments of the wrist. I...

Rehabilitation needed for two absence. (wrists)

Hiya, It's been a while since I've been on this forum. Roughly, two and a half years ago I trained with ARMA in Provo, Ut while the group was headed by the adept Jacob Norwood. Now that circumstances and schedule permit for the practice of the ARMA method of European Martial Arts, I have run into a ...
