That's the Thott edition, which is available right here at ARMA. Planetary intelligences and the like. Get used to the idea that people back then were a "bit" superstitious - their Christianity isn't modern Christianity. Pretty far from it. "Chi" seems a scientifical fact compare...

Ti sucks if you use it for anything else than modern vehicles or armour. The only true advantage of Ti over steel is that Ti is much more corrosion resistant - other than that, nothing. You won't break a good combat knife if it's made from anything better than mild steel, so strength is not an issue...

Just mentioning - FMA does use two swords, though they are more like "shortswords". Kalarippayattu (sp?) and Gatka also uses two swords, though those are sabers in most cases and the method is very different than WMA. But even in these systems sword+buckler, sword+dagger and single sword s...

Oooooops, seems like I managed to forget posting that picture. Here it goes... http://www.fioredeiliberi.org/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=6855&g2_serialNumber=3 Only the guy in the lower left corner has a clearly visible chain connected to his sword, diagonally right...

I'll post a picture from my other computer tomorrow. That's 15th century, showing quite flashy stuff, and shows at least two harnesses with weapon chains fixed to the Medusa heads in the centre of the breastplate. That's the only one I know from the 15th. And all my other pictures show their use mou...

Sorry, but in this case, Albion swords won't help. Simply because we are different. There's a sword I made - it's intended to be a single-handed sword, but for a rather big guy. It can be grabbed comfortably with two hands by a bit-smaller-than-average guy. The same big guy has a bastard sword, whic...

Steel quality and blade cross-section surely has something to do with the sound of the sword, but the nature of it (dull short THUNK versus sharper longer ZIIIING) depends on the hilt. I can make mild steel sing and I can make tempered spring steel stay silent, though I prefer a VERY tight assembly ...

Well, well, seems like not only we Hungarians are in this not-exactly-good situation concerning laws... I prefer my messer, my girlfriend prefers her shortish longsword for home defence, but we have a lot of steel stuff around here... trivially if my messer is in the bedroom while I'm in the kitchen...

"Shield guy" doesn't really use his shield. I bruised several and broke two wrists, bruised countless thighs, almost broke a knee, almost crushed a windpipe, bruised heads and so on even as I don't really like the shield. I missed aggressive durchlaufen. I was surprised at the leg hits - o...

They are effective in practice. We tested it even as we didn't want to do so. We are here and can use all our limbs - the latter isn't necessarily true for those who started the tests. Attackers were both armed and unarmed - no firearms fortunately.

Polearms (especailly poleaxe) and bidenhander are my top favourites. There's a level of speed that I just can't exceed no matter how hard I train, which combined with my strength leads to the interesting thing that I can attack and recover with a bidenhander (at least with my 165cm long one - I'm re...

Basically I have problems with the position of the parrierhaken. With this assembly you can't finger the quillons and can't use it comfortably in "long grip" (lack of better term). It has no function and would trouble you while grabbing the ricasso and would exclude some of the techniques....

///I had a concussion during intense ringen practice yesterday so spelling and consistency may be a bit off/// You mean the katzbalger? The usually-short usually-broad thingie with a usually-flaring pommel and heavily curved quillons taking S or 8 form? Nice and effective weapons and their absence i...
