Re: 2 Challenger's fights

It always seems to me that the Eastern Martial Arts dont study weapons(or unarmed techniques) as earnestly as the western MA's do. They tend to have to much imphasis on "mystical superiority" and not train as earnestly in testing and refining the Martial applications. Some schools do train...

Movie sword fight

I just caught the end of "Out of Reach" , a Steven Seagal movie. In the end he fights a saber wielding bad guy with a Kriegsmesser. I was surprised to see every parry done with the flat. He didn't counter strike whan he could have but that would have made the fight to quick for film. I was...

Re: Terry Brown's bare-fist techniques

You do see the hammerfist in MMA fights. It has its place. the modern world sees no hammerfist becouse of boxing. Kids will throw a hammerfist until about 4 yrs old. By then they have seen some boxing on TV. I know this by whatching my girls. My 2 year old does it every time. My 4 and 9 year old try...

Re: Rear naked choke?

Thanks Randall

I didn't notice the dagger. The rear naked choke definently has very limited use on the battlefield.

Thanks

Re: One of the worst fencing articles I have ever read

I saw that website. I emailed them about it, pointing out the errors. I was not rude with my email but I still never recieved a reply. It's one of those situations where "don't confuse me with the facts, I have made up my mind" kind of things.

Re: Hammer strike

Thanks guys

I can see this being very destructive. I was showing my 4 yr old how to hit a baseball. She instictively steps and strikes in the same way you cut with a sword. It is cool to me how natural this motion is. Allthough not helpful hitting a baseball.LOL

Thanks for the help.

Hammer strike

With the hammer strike, what is the striking surface? And a step should be used with the strike ,just as in cutting with the sword?
