Nice show. But. Why do they compare 15-16 century samuraj with European warrior of 8-10 centyry? Let us compare samuraj with 15 century knight in full set of gothic armor. Samuraj don’t have a chance.
Moreover, why they used term “longsword” for Viking sword?

Do I understand Meyer right that he speaks about three types of footwork: 1. Forward and backward (no questions about it) 2. When he speaks about the steps that...

CalebChow thank you very much. I found not only footwork but also timing there. One more question, Joachim Meyer's work is the end of 16th century; can we find the same references early?

Movements in Historical Manuals

I was asked recently where it is written in historical manuals about the movement system. And, I found that I know how to use it but have no idea what the source of these movements. I never cross my legs. I use triangle step. I use traversal step. They work great for me, and for me they are seemed n...

Re: Working Out in the Gym in order to fight bette

Bill Welch I already wrote in my previous message, do not give professional sportsmen as an example. For them the training in a gym is only one part of their training program, If you can devote several hours each day on Martial Art training, certainly you will benefit from work out in gym. Risto Rau...

The question to John Clements

Good Day, Dear John Clements. I was on your seminar when you were in Israel, in Haifa. There, you mentioned that there were Jewish Fencing Masters in Germany. Unfortunately, I did not have a possibility to ask you about their names because it was only one fact among the great amount of information t...

Re: Working Out in the Gym in order to fight bette

Guys, I did not say that strength is not important. I only insist on two things. First, I am almost thirty years old now, and I can find some time for exercise only two or three time per week. Certainly, I devote it on real combat. Second, you are right professional sportsmen usually work out in a g...

Re: Working Out in the Gym in order to fight bette

In my opinion, work out in a gym does not help you to fight better. When you work out and gain weight, you harm you coordination system and became slower. You can be a powerful man with huge muscles but it does not help you to get you opponent in the fight. What you rely need is endurance and the be...
