gloves

Would the kevlar imbedded motorcycle gloves work? They have protecting on the back of the each knuckle and back of hand.
My son's been trying to get a pair but they are hard to find. I'd gladly pay the price to protect him on his bike and if they would work he could use them for sparing.

youth renewal

Also renewing for youth membership... (second year) McKinley A. Smith, Tullahoma, TN Youth memberships are a one time fee until they are 18, then they join as adults. Because there is no form or 'renewal' they don't show up on the list above. Also, we have a renewing member Jared Smith (adult member...

Thanks to all from Tullahoma!

On behave of all of us from ARMA Tullahoma, I just want to everyone for just a good time. It was a long drive but we learned some new ways to practice and got help correcting sloppy posture and bad habits. We were so inspired that when we got back my son and I built a sword rack to everyone's waster...

Denise, We should try to schedule some overlap in our groups. Jake We plan on a monthly meeting here. We would love to have you come work with us from time to time. Most of us are not ready for a 1.0 but I will mention it to everyone. The other thing is cost as the majority are youth (high school s...

Tullahoma, ARMA Jan meeting

The Tullahoma group will met this Sunday Jan 28th from 2-4 at the home of Denise Smith. We will set goals for the upcoming year, identify resources within the group (i.e. who has what texts and equipment), identify leaders for various areas (i.e. warm-up, staff, longsword...), etc. This is a brainst...

where are you at?

I noticed that a lot of members don't list where they are at on the 'memberlist'. One advantage to having at least a state and country is it allows those who live near you to contact you to see if you want to get together to practice. I noticed that the list is not even standard as to last name firs...

Please forgive my ignorance on the particulars of your quest and the fact that this has nothing to do with them. I have a question for you if you don't mind. You mentioned that you are working on a PhD and it obviously involves the topic related to ARMA... or at least the study of Western Martial Ar...

To glue or not to glue...

Have you tried gorilla glue?
A little goes a long way. Wipe off excess immediately with damp cloth. It is an expanding glue and it is very strong.
Although if epoxy didn't hold.. WOW I'm not sure what will. I've glued a stone sculpture together with two part epoxy.

You might be an Armateer if...

...when one of your children's friends brings someone new to the house and they get scared when you answer the door with a wooden waister in hand and your child's friend says: "Don't worry she won't hit you unless your On The Field". ... you no longer consider a "buffer" a proper...

Re: Welcome home!

My father has given our son his pool table and that is the only weekend for picking it up. Good news is next time we host down here there will be something else to do with long sticks at our house. Well, My father has had an offer on his house that includes the pool table... so we won't be getting ...

Anyway, I will be retuning on the 7th, but I won’t get in until sometime that evening. From that point, I will be around until the 13th or 14th to oversee the movers, then I’ll be gone for good. Dan Alas, Parting is such sweet sorrow.... On the road again.... Good bye, farewell, Auf Wiedersehen,......

October's not available for the Smith Clan. I will keep the others posted so they can be in touch with you though. Good news is we've taken down the playground and we have been working on filling low spots in the yard. By the end of October I should have a couple pells in place. We have two of...

Welcome!

Welcome Shama, I have found a wealth of information here on the ARMA website. There is even more on the members only side after you've become a registered member. A great number of the ARMA members are 'independent' (i.e. without an instructor). They study the website information, they read and stud...
