I have some Law Enforcement friends that say they have trained in Krav Maga through their agency. Defending against armed assault is basic Krav Maga training. There are a couple of manuals out there but the best information and obviously the best way to learn would be to find a self defense instruct...

Thanks for the free tips. I have "The Complete Bladesmith" by Jim Hrisoulas as well as the "$50 Knife Shop" by Wayne Goddard. I will take your advice and start small.

Hi, This thread grabbed my attention. I am interested in learning to make my own blades. I am currently learning simple blacksmith techniques from a friend who is a trained blacksmith. His background is craft work and Ferrier (horse shoes). He has taught me about the tools and anvils but his forge a...

Derrick,

Sorry for the delay in posting my support for a Louisville ARMA Study Group. Let me know whatever you need me to do (short of cloning myself) to get this study group started. How does next saturday morning sound for getting a little practice and sparring in?

I am new to ARMA and haven't purchased a waster yet. I was planning on getting a wooden one by the end of the month. If these plastic ones are available I would rather get one of these than a wooden one. So, consider me standing in line. My birthday is next month and this would be a great gift for m...

Thanks to Denise Smith for allowing me to attend the get together of her group. Even though I arrived late and missed the start of the longsword instruction, I learned a lot. Jennifer got me caught up with the rest of the group and during a rest break David gave me some one-on-one instruction. I bro...

Re: Sparring Partners needed in Kentucky

Derrick, I just finished watching The History Channel's "Axes, Swords, and Knives". They had interviews with swordsmith Paul Champlain and John Clements from ARMA. I remember telling you about this particular show and the amazing swordplay. My padded longsword is ready and I'm looking for ...
