My friend Tom Biliter bought a camera capable of doing 300 fps and 600 fps and shot a test cutting video for me. The newspapers roll was 5" thick.

My French friend Jean-Luc Ancelin visited Hong Kong today and after the sparring sessions, I prepared him 3 rolls of newspapers to test cut with. I lent him the Windlass 15th Century longsword and he worked through 1", 2" and 2.5" newspapers rolls beautifully. http://www.youtube.com/w...

Record breaking 4.75" diameter newspapers roll cut! I did it at night so no video taken. I took photos afterwards.

The magazine was of higher density roll, more difficult to cut than normal newspapers roll. And the broomstick.... well.. nevermind.

It is easy to add the shaft for the next test cut. I still have some here. With the shaft on I can go for an even bigger roll. :)

interesting way of doing it, but it obviously worked better. One thing though. Looking at hose rolls it seems like there was no pipe in this batch. Is that correct? Just asking. A lot better though.
