Has anyone read this book; "The Art of Combat: A German Martial Arts Treatise of 1570"? The only review said it was somewhat flawed and I don't want to buy anything that is wrong.

Are there any rules about using athletic tape on the hilt to improve the grip? It seems like it would be akin to wire or other ancient methods, but I dont want to start bad habits.

This is slightly off topic, but they probably used “Isms” as well. The Marine Corps , and I’m sure other branches, uses Isms which are little sayings you chant when you are performing an action.
