I think to purposely recive a scar to the face by letting your oppoenet strike you is not only stupid, but has no honor in it. It was said earlyer that the heat treating of the steel makes a diferance. The heat treating and tempering are definetly part of the cause of the sound that comes off a blade, and its quality.
