Great first attempt. I think most of them had my criticisms covered, but i want to stress the footwork. I think if you slowed down the speed of the florysh just a hair, you would have time for your footwork to catch up with your body. Often times i saw a disconnect between your hands/sword and your ...
here are some that i've found, i'd appreciate any feedback. This pair is my favorite thus far... http://www.by-the-sword.com/acatalog/Finger_Gauntlets_GH0200.html These are the others i've considered: http://cgi.ebay.com/GAUNTLETS-Steel-Medieval-Knight-Gloves-HIGH-QUALITY_W0QQitemZ120508314660QQcmdZ...

So i recently had the tip of my thumb broken clean through the distal tip while i was wearing lacrosse gauntlets via my own failing technique. Obviously getting better would solve that problem and i'd have my thumbs/hands/fingers hit less in general, but the paradox is, if i keep breaking fingers my...
Perhaps the lack of response is simply due to the fact that many people in this forum are also members of SFI and/or myArmoury and have responded there (or agree with the responses already posted there), so they see no need to needlessly replicate the discussion in a forum that's really more about ...
After posting my question, i continued to search for a better explanation on hollow ground blades, and seeing as i didn't receive a response on here, i thought perhaps people we're lacking in knowledge, and i would share what i have discovered. Hollow grinding is typically a type of grind that essen...
I actually in fact prefer the Earl. So i think i'm set, it was just really a race between Earl/regent, and Baron. I really just want a serious cutter that handles beautifully and has a great thrust and feel, seems the Earl is fitting.
Thank you all, i think my mind is made up. I'm going to go with the Earl. I'll probably finalize the order at the end of this month once i know my mind is made up for good, and hopefully i will post pictures of my new sword by the new year! Now it's just up to the hilt color. Oxblood or Light campai...
Jaron, can you tell me a little more about your cutting experience with the sempach? Do you have a lot of vibration? Cut track okay? Still an easy graceful cutter?
It's an inteesting topic, hopefully not too OT for the forum. I was thinking along the lines of a genetically evolved response to certain shapes, which doesn't seem out of the question if compared with male responses to female shapes which appear ( although I could be wrong ) to vary from culture t...
I was seriously considering the Earl. I like it just as much, and from what i've heard about the pommel, that seems to be the only issue with the regent, so it seems like earl could be a viable choice. I'm leaning towards the Earl now, but my only concern is how they will hold up to some fierce cutt...
Can you tell me more about the feel when handling both? See i'm 5'9, 175 pounds of honest to god, mostly muscle (i'm irish, we're a thick people), so i've got a strong arm, and a lot of leverage. Do you think that makes a difference with each?
Good morning all, I've saved and suffered to acquire the small fortune (1500$) necessary to purchase my first true longsword. The swords i've been torn between are both from Albion, The Baron and The Regent. My issue is this. I genuinely will probably use a sharp primarily for cutting, so most impor...
