Thanks for the advice, but im 18 and 30% of my paycheck is almost nothing, I can actually put more than 30% away at the moment because I dont have many expenses. That won't last long however so I'm trying to make the best of it by buying a few peices of armor for a man-at-arms look to tide me over t...

Ah, thats good to know. That would be disapointing to pay $130 for a gambeson then get it destroyed in one or two fights... And thanks for the tip about the file, I've got some bur's on one of my swords right now but never really thought about how to fix it. I hate asking off-topic questions, but no...

Okay thanks for answering that question, over the last few days I've been reading lots of discussions on here and since im interested in buying gauntlets I've read all the discussions about those that I've seen. I hadn't considered the fact that armor could damage clothes...could armor damage/rip up...

Well, I've already got a Cas Iberia Hand-and-a-half (I think its the newer bad version...) that I got for my 18th birthday. But I would really like to get a few peices of armor too. Armor and weapons questions

After glancing over a few threads on here, I've found the armor I was going to buy has a few issues... The helmet I was going to buy is 14 guage steel, but I've read by some on here that that's too heavy, and that 16 guage is better. I'd like to know if 14 guage is just as historically accurate as 1...

That's an idea, I didn't think visits that often would help very much but I guess I was wrong. :)

Thanks for helping, and btw, aren't you the guy who "stabs people in the face"? :P

Thanks for the advice, I already checked out the appleton study group and its about a whole days drive from me, and with the price of gas being what it is any regular practice there is out of the question. I'll have to check out those other two groups and see how far away from me they are, although ...

Practice partners in South East Wisconsin?

I live in Whitewater in the South East corner of Wisconsin, and was wondering if there are any other like minded people in my area I could train with?

I am not currently a member of ARMA but am looking into it and would really like to know if there's anyone in my area.
