Thanks

Thanks for the response Caleb. A sharp blade will need to be further down the road for me then, since cutting would still be a great and essential portion of this art. Just not yet in my case.

Interesting thread.

It will be very interesting to see how the art develops in the coming years, considering its recent resurgence and advancements. Along with that will be the emergence of additional works from its prominent contemporary practitioners. It really lends itself to an exciting blend of modern methodologie...

"Master" as current forerunner in the Art

Just going over older threads and had some thoughts on this... I get the sense from the research and schools that are out there, that there are a few individuals more respected, that are more experienced practitioners and standing experts. Wouldn't these forerunning figures be our equivalents of the...

Agreed!

I love Salt Lake and the people here. I've lived here nearly my entire life.

Possibilities

I appreciate the advice. I stumbled on this group who may or may not offer, or know of manufacturers for that type of gear: http://www.swordschool.com/ I guess it is a school organized in Helsinki. If not them, there is always the Zen Warrior Armory, which I found in the ARMA Forum: http://www.zenwa...

PROTECTIVE GEAR - REFERRAL

Hey, I'm new to the forum and am just now finding out about ARMA and other resources for Western Martial Arts. It's awesome! I've got a waster on the way, and am wondering about protective gear for the torso. I normally wouldn't be too worried, since it's a wooden sword, but some health issues have ...
