I just ordered several books from Amazon: Knight and His Weapons by Oakeshott Knight in Battle by Oakeshott Knight and His Armor by Oakeshott Records of the Medieval Sword also by Oakeshott Medieval Swordsmanship by John Clements I think this along with the available online articles is a good start....

I was wondering if someone could list (3-6) good books that cover much of what ARMA is about. The forums have hundreds of threads and sifting through them would take a long time and it is likely I would miss some good information. Thanks Randall, Can you be specific? I would guess most fights are over within a minute or two or less. I know very little of real sword fighting, but I can only conclude two equally skilled opponents would strike a wounding blow within 2-3 strikes or in turn receive such a wound that would cause th...
