My armpit/sternum measure about 50" from the floor. I'll go with the longer one. Okay, thanks for the help.

Are there any other factors besides personal preference that influence the choice, such as fighting style or anything like that? Or is it just a matter of matching the correct length with the person's height? With no experience, I'm going into this blind, so I'll rely on the advice I get here.

I didn't mention where I live because I'm moving next week and we don't have our exact new location yet (could be one of a few possibilities).
