Re: Training equipment question

We use a 1600 something-pressure-messurment fencingmask, and sometimes a birdcage-hockeyhelmet. But with the waistrs the Hockeyhelmet is not to recomend. We have had a few near eye-out incidents.

Re: Training equipment question

Ouch! I´ve seen something simillar happen to one of the boys here to. He took a pommelstrike in the forhead and the mesch was pressed into his skin. Lookt nasty at first but was only a suoerficial wound. But at least the fencingmask spreads the impact and the eyes are safe from gouging(sp?). just my...

Re: Training equipment question

One thing I have thought of is knuckleprotection when we sparr in all weapons and it ends in ringen am swerde/degen/messer. The mesch of the fencingmasks has a tendency to scratch or seriously harm the hand if one hit a more glancing strike against the face of your opponent. How has you guys solved ...

Re: Viking manual?

I contest the illiterate statment! Resentresearch shows that many knew runes (at least in the fighting upperklasses) and that the so called illittrate mass continued this practis into the 17th c. On topic though just myth and sagas is left to us so the reconstruction here is much harder. One way cou...
