James no they Wer trained bow men and thus 80 to 100# might be viable but 260# is unlikely shure if you had a man that could pull it you would have a devastating bow but after 2 or 3 pulls his arms would be rubber you haft to balance accuracy, power, and endurance to help answe the quostion of acuri...

I don't have much archery experience but I do have somand a 260# pull sounds exaggerated to me. Long bows on average have a pull of about 40 to 60#, that is a modern hand made composite long bow not a re curve they can get into 100# range but you haft to be built like a tank to draw it 80# IMO is mo...

in a street fight situation I believe you would just deal with it if you had a scabbard that could be removed easily (ie baldric) you might find time to throw it off but not likely I'd haft to agree with Jake that most of the time you would probably have time to set aside your scabbard before a duel...

my favorite clothing would haft to be no shirt and a kilt I ware allterain(sp) ruining shoos most of the time but occasionally ware thin soled lace up moccasins and ofcors no shoos is an option but not one I'm fond of broken toes hurt
