Re: ReMA vs. MMA

Ringen isn't really an individual art, either. It's several disciplines (as previously outlined). It is also one discipline set out of a much larger one This is all you needed to say . I was under the assumption that Ringen had de...

Re: ReMA vs. MMA

if I have multiple opponents with weapons, do I think it's better to use ringen or go to the ground...? It'd probably better to have a Desert Eagle. My point is, regardless of a martial art's training, a 1 versus many situation will lead to a sound beat of the 1, regardless of if that 1 does BJJ, R...

Re: Unterhalten

Could any man less than 600 lbs. of muscle hold down two grown men with his feet? I hope not. Otherwise, I might just decide to stay inside today .

Re: ReMA vs. MMA

criminals only attack one at a time and always unarmed, and eveyone before 1880 was retarded and couldn't figure out unarmed combat... why are you here at a historical western martial arts site? Suddenly so hostile? I never stated that BJJ is the ultimate fighting art, nor did I even leave an inkli...

Re: ReMA vs. MMA
Thank you! But I can´t take credit for that comment, it was Mike C. who said that, !
I still stated that BJJ is still one of the more vital aspects of MMA. What's clear here is that you don't understand what Ringen really is. Indeed I don't, which is why I am speaking from ...

Re: ReMA vs. MMA

M Wallgreen: I agree with your above statement, that MMA does not favor BJJers who are only skilledin BJJ. However, it also doesn't favor pure strikers or pure wrestlers. It's called MMA, because everyone has to be good at everything in order to compete at the highest level. Also, as Royce Gracie an...

Re: Unterhalten

Lol, "kill them while on the ground." The only way to do this would be with a neck-break, choke, or blade used to stab of some sort, which are all taught in the standard of modern ground fighting, such as BJJ or submission wrestling, minus the knife. The only reason many bouts last so long...

Re: ReMA vs. MMA

Quite a few, huh? I stated, universally accepted. Of course there will be exceptions to any rule in competition that is held worldwide by different organizations. For example, foot stomps to the face are allowed in PRIDE FC, another MMA organization, but not in UFC. There are some organizations wit...

Re: ReMA vs. MMA

First post, woohoo! Now for the argument: It seems like a lot of the posters here seem to be trying to use the "well, our art was used for killing on the battlefield" argument to validate themselves. Respectfully, that is no basis for judgement of a martial art. The only judgement that can...
