Thanks for this Brian!! I am starting to dig into I.33 on my own and researching sword and buckler traditions for a class. This is a welcome addition to both ends.
Gratias tibi ago,

Thank you Jeff and anyone else who contributed to this project.
This is an awsome addition to the site, ARMA, and the WMA community.

Tanks guys, both of you make really good points and these are things I have been sorting out of the past few days. I know it's near impossible to track these myths back to their original sources. This is only a small part of my research and I'm just looking to get a sense of the progression of the i...

Roots of Medieval Myths

Hey guys, I'm working on some research that requires me to look into the historiography of the past opinions of scholars on the evolution of Medieval weapons and armour. Having always been directed towards those scholars who are now widely considered to have gotten things right, Oakeshott, David Nic...

Weight Workouts and blade control.

As a relatively new practitioner of WMA and the longsword, one thing I am having issues with is blade control because my arm and sholder strength is not probobly what it should be. This causes me to have to fight the sword at times to place certain strikes properly. Zwerchhau, for example, tends to ...

Re: Archery

Howdy Bill, It's good to see someone with an interest in period archery and it's modern proliferation. I would level a warning. I have been researching the 100 Yrs War with a specific eye for the Englsih Longbow and the men who used them for several years now. Be careful about what you hear regardin...

Re: New Type of Waster!!

Any idea on when shorter/ other models will be an option? I'm short(5'4) and these are simply too long for me. I'm also intrested in a single hander for I.33.
Thanks!

Re: New Type of Waster!!

Put me on the list as an intrested buyer lespaulzoso86@yahoo.com.
Also, any plans to do single handers? Whenever these go to sale, I'd buy a single and longsword.

Re: Anachronistic cross-training

Sabers did in fact meet scimitars in history. The British conquest of India certainly saw sabers and basket-hilted claymores meeting tulwers and scimitars as the Indians also employed Arabs. One particular unit were the Lions of Allah and they squared off against English, Sepoy, and Highlander regim...

Re: Starting off with the two-hander

To add what I can from my oen limited knowledge, The Hand and a Half is a weapon that became so renoudly popular for its versitility. It can be wielded in one or two hands with ease in the hands of a trained swordsman. It also served itself to self defense and the duel outside of a battlefield conte...
