Postby Bill Welch » Fri Jan 28, 2005 3:05 pm

Can anyone point me to a translation that fencing from the stances of Meyers 1570 fight book, most of the online sources I have found stop before this chapter, or stop short of longpoint in this chapter.

Hey Jeff,

schielhau, stops right before it goes into the longpoint section of fencing from the stances. I need to get the cd from Higgins.
Thanks, Bill

Jeff, I dont think it is my browser, I dont see anything past Chapt 11(fighting from the stances), page 40, it mentions describing fighting from longpoint then stops. I think that there are about 10(?) more pages that I can not find. Friefechter has a transcription to German(dont read much German). I would like to Translate these pages ,but right now I dont have the time, and would need to find a good dictionary.
Thanks, Bill

I've got a translation of it that I did last summer somewhere, too. It'll be a while before I make that available, but if you bring up specifics I'll see what I can remember.

Jake, good to hear from you, wondering when you would show up in this. I have found a german transcription of the last 10-16 pages(dont remember) from friefechter(of course it is in German), and since no one else seem to have it(that I can find) I suppose I will try my best to translate, But it will take a while.
I recetly found a dictionary for german to english that has about 410,000 translated words. It should be here in about a week.
Thanks, Bill
