I have been training for awhile now with a historical Basinet w/ Klapp Visor. This type of visor resembles an old school hockey goalie mask and throws much of your exhaled breath back at you.
When I started using it I noticed I tired much quicker, but did get used to it after a couple weeks. I have noticed now that I have better stamina and endurance especially with it off.
Obviously, seperate from the actual weight of the helm contributing to the workout routine I thought that maybe this is actually the same as training in a low oxygen environment, like at higher altitudes?
Is there any mention in the texts like a "practice like you play" type comment or anything advising you to train with the visors down? This question is probably a good one for Matt or Shane or perhaps Tim. Have you guys noticed this effect? -Aaron
