I was just taking a look at some basic stats last night and thought you folks might like to know just how much this website is growing. Two years ago when we first moved onto a dedicated server, the ARMA website was roughly 2 GB in size and drawing up to 40 GB in bandwidth per month. Today, our website is up to 4.25 GB and is regularly drawing over 100 GB bandwidth per month! It's amazing to think that in just two short years (the time since our first International Gathering), this website has more than doubled in size and readership. If you ever wonder where your membership funds are going, you can be sure that they are supporting the largest, most actively growing resource of its kind anywhere on the web. (No wonder I can't keep up.)
I firmly believe that it's the scholarly approach we take and the friendly atmosphere that make this possible. In addition to the ever-prolific John Clements constantly giving us something new to come back and read, ARMA has a steadily increasing number of home-grown researchers also providing new content, and I think it's exciting for all of us to watch the students in this organization become teachers. Add to that our expanding circle of contacts in the academic world who provide us with new "lost" writings and new interpretations and translations of the ones we already know, and there's plenty to whet your appetite for knowledge. And just think, we've barely scratched the surface of this subject! Lively and informative forum discussions don't hurt either, lest I forget.
The growth of this website is a testament to the strength of the community it serves, and I don't see it slowing down anytime soon. Our thanks to everybody who contributes to make this possible, you guarantee that there's much more to come.
