A lil help please

Postby Cameron Sharpe » Tue Nov 29, 2005 6:57 pm

My friend Jonathan recently got me interested in WMA, and I was wondering if perhaps anyone could direct me to an ARMA member(s) living somewhere in Arkansas.

Check the link on the main page under "study groups & practice partner listings"
Thanks, Bill

The problem with that page is that is no longer lists everyone out there. There may be a lone practitioner close to him that is not listed on the study group page.

You'd need to contact John Clements to find out for sure.

Sorry Brian, I know people miss the old format of that page, but ARMA has gotten to be so large (almost 500 members) that it became to impractical to keep an individual membership list up to date all the time. Maybe I can come up with something else to show locations where ARMA has members, like a map, but to get specific contact info, people will still need to e-mail or post here and ask.

Hi Stacy,

my comment wasn't meant as a critacism. I understand the overwelming amount of information you have to deal with on the webpage. Just felt that it needed to be pointed out that the infomation availible there is limited and doesn't present the whole story. <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

What about a online member database that is searchable? That would be of great help to everyone.

Stacy

This would be a no-brainer for me - it is what I do for a living. I will drop you and John a private email.

There is already a mapping utility which fulfills this need: www.frappr.com. It utilizes google maps to track individual's locales and can be administered to allow only ARMA access. Best of all it's free! Also, since Study Group's and respective leader's contact information can be included, it would greatly facilitate meet-ups with new members (and keep these kinds of queries away from the forums). Give it a look.

Thanks, I knew I'd seen something like that before and forgot the name.
