Movie sword fight

Postby Ray_McCullough » Sun Jun 04, 2006 10:12 pm

I just caught the end of "Out of Reach" , a Steven Seagal movie. In the end he fights a saber wielding bad guy with a Kriegsmesser. I was surprised to see every parry done with the flat. He didn't counter strike whan he could have but that would have made the fight to quick for film. I was still surprised to not see the usuall edge on edge hacking.

Yeah,

that scene wasn't too bad, but he weilded that messer like a katana rather than a messer. Still it was nice to see parries with the flat.

I was just thinking about that scene myself. The setting in that whitestone operahouse(?) was stunning.

For all of his(many) problems, I do think Seagal does do swordplay pretty well.
