Hi!

Postby Eric Mucus » Thu Jul 27, 2006 10:40 am

I have been into historical fencing for sometime now...I used to be part of The Bartholomew Schoole as well as the Midwest Historical Fencer's Project.
Now I've lived in NY for 3 years and have been unable to find a group to play with. Today, however, someone dropped me a line that there is a group call the Long Island Swordsmen; does anyone know anything about this group? I have already seen their website and I am going to attend their next practice, but I was wondering if anyone knew anything about them.

Thank you.

PS
Hi I'm new here so if there is anything that anyone wants to tell me, I am all ears!

I've never heard of them (at least by that name),but ARMA has a couple of groups in NY. Have a look around here;

Long Island Swordsmen is just a sport fencing club. If you are interested in HISTORICAL fencing then you wont find it there. Fun sport though.

Follow up question.
Is there enough interest to get a group started on Long Island? (NY)

I understand that there is one on Staten Island and on in Brooklyn, bu those are just too far for me.

Hey, I'd be interested in joining a Long Island group. I've been looking around for a while, and it seems like there aren't any for those of us that are far from Brooklyn.
