Today I got a chance to cross train with a westerner who practice Chinese Hung Gar weaponry. It's not a surprise to me anymore that most Chinese martial arts practitioners who are willing to put their application skill to test were westerners. So it's especially fun that they use my nation's style while I use European's style to spar with. Anyway, here're the videos. He tried 2 butterfly swords first, then spear.

It's good to see that the same set of longsword methods written down by Sigmund Ringeck can work against single weapons, two short weapons and polearms just as well. Sword and shield or two longer swords were a slightly different matter, though.

Not that the methods have to be changed, but a different emphasis must be made in the mindset. That's just my opinion, however.
