Chicago Area

Postby Guy Sodin » Mon Jan 08, 2007 9:31 pm

Hello All, my name is Guy and I live in the southside of Chicago. I'm a 21 year old student and am very interesting in joining your organization. The problem being I saw no official study groups in IL at all.

Anyone in my area at all? I was just wondering since I have no previous martial training whatsoever and would like the help of a mentor/instructor to show me where to begin.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The closest person to you is probably is Aaron up in Appleton, who is quite formidable. If you could arrange to meet with him and his study group over a particular weekend, you would definitely benefit from the one on one interaction.
I also noticed that a NTP 1.0 Longsword seminar is scheduled for Feb 17th and 18th in Minneapolis, MN. It's basically Longsword 101, but the amount of techniques and knowledge covered is well worth the trip.
And if you haven't already read the FAQ section, I would spend some time there reading the links: http://www.thearma.org/FAQ.htm.

Hey, I'm from Glencoe close to Evanston north of chicago, I'm pretty young (17), been doing sword play for awhile and fencing, but want a more rigid understanding of sword play, anyone interested in being my sparring partner? I've got plenty of friends up for it too.
