ARMA in Los Angeles? Looking to join.

Postby Alex Madrigal » Thu Jul 19, 2007 7:12 pm

Hello everyone!

I've been researching and looking and I can't seem to find anything in the LA area. Have I missed a key section of the site that lists study groups by region? There is a very dense amount of information on the ARMA mainsite, and I do tend to get distracted by all the great videos and awesome photographs. If anybody can help point me in the right direction, I would be very grateful!

Aside from ARMA, I found a lot of links pointing to the Schola Solis website which I hear has a solid study group that focuses on polearm and long sword in Los Angeles. However, the site comes up blank. Does anybody know the contact info or if the group even still exists? Thanks again!

http://www.thearma.org/Practice/partners.htm lists study groups

There are also individual members all over the place. Happy training! :D

Where in LA do live? I'm in Long Beach and currently drive out to the Tustin group for pratice, but it'd be great to find a sparring partner a little closer to home.

Thanks for the speedy reply, Jaron. Unfortunately, the areas listed are a bit too far for me. I'm looking into it though, and that was a very appreciated push in the right direction!

Antonio, I live in El Monte, which is about 15-20 minutes from Los Angeles. Long Beach is still a bit far for me, unfortunately. However, if you could give me some contact info for the Tustin group, I would like to at least visit your practice site and get to know some folks in Southern California. Observing some training would do me some good as well.

Hey Alex I live in Pomona, CA about 20 minutes or so (Good traffic pending which we all know is just GREAT east side of l.a  ) east of you. I am always looking for people to train with east of l.a so if your interested in meeting up for a practice feel free to contact me. Just private message me on the forums and perhaps we can set something up. As far as study groups go for Arma in the Southern California region thus far only the Tustin study group is the only officaly recognized study group I know of in this region. I do know some folks in the San Bernadino area and then there are a few folks in San Diego that are trying to get study groups going as well but they haven't officaly got going with Arma yet (hopefuly that will change very soon). It might be worth your wild to head down with me to one of the Tustin practices to see one of our practices down there if your interested perhaps you can just hitch a ride with me down to practice since its a bit of a drive for you. If you need any help at all again feel free to private message me here on the forum.

Sounds good! PM sent.

If anybody else out here knows some more folks, or maybe a study group that isn't listed here, I would very much like to know about that.
