Leather Vambraces

Postby Alan Abu Bakr » Tue Oct 09, 2007 2:36 pm

I'm kinda interested in knowing a few things about leather vambraces, so I'd like to ask a few questions:
What design(s) existed for leather vambraces historically? (renaissance and earlier) and how, when and where were they used?

I primarily want to know about vambraces that are only vambraces, and not part of a bigger piece that covers more of the arm.

P.S. I'd also like to know if there are better, historically inaccurate, designs for fastening it on the arm.
Those who live by the sword will be shot by those who don't.
(I neither like the real name rule, nor do I find it to be good)

I would research that question at www.armourarchive.org
