With Intent Wasters Closing

Postby Kevin Peterson » Wed Aug 20, 2008 5:57 pm

I am posting this notice for Eric Winkler from With Intent Wasters.

To Whom It May Concern,

It is with much regret that I announce the closing of With Intent Wasters. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I am unable to devote the time necessary to run my business. As of 8/1/08 I am no longer taking orders. All current orders will be completed in the order that they were received and as soon as possible. Thank you to everyone for your business and interest in my wasters!

Sincerely, Eric E. Winkler With Intent Wasters.

Kevin, Thanks again for all of the help! Eric.....

Membership,

This is to bad, but ineveitable. Eric worked very hard to make a go at this but in the end, he was just one guy in his garage. Kevin and I from time time would try and help him out but in truth, Kevin and I were really not that much help to him.

I do feel sorry for those folks who had pending orders and who have been waiting for long periods of time, I know what that is like, and it's never any fun.

If Eric accepted your money then he needs to deliver you a product, and as I know him so well, I know that he will. He just may need so more time to do so.

Thus ends forever, any direct involvement with me and anyone trying to make products for our cause. I want to make clear that Eric never asked me to be his "rep". I just wanted to see him succeed, so I helped get the word out when I could.

This has been an interesting lesson for me, and I wish Eric all the best, but in the end he could not keep up to the demand- AP

Ah well. :( Please convey to Eric our appreciation for the effort he put into it and the very fine wasters he did make. They are indeed still in action in Columbus at least.

Sorry to hear that,

Erik made a fine product. I make my stuff part time, and I understand how much time it takes to turn around a product like this out of your garage. This will give him more time with his family, a much needed commodity.

all the best.

Brian Hunt.

I'm very sorry to hear this. I'm glad I picked up a pair for our study group. They will see many years of loving abuse I am sure.

Feh! He has started a legacy, I'm sure. Shown that it can be done with plastic. It is only a matter of time before someone else takes up the mantle. WMA is on the rise, methinks, and products will become good business.

Heck, perhaps Eric himself has the opportunity to continue one day. I cry not over not having had the chance to buy a plastic waster.

Yes, so sorry to hear this sad news. But thank goodness he is not the only producer of plastic wasters.

The question now is can Brian Hunt produce enough to compensate as I know this is not a full time thing for him either?

Depends upon demand. If it gets great enough, I have a lead with a friend to have part of the pieces mass produced in order to help meet demand. I plan to try and keep turn arounds times way down on wasters (helmets are a different story), but if you contact me and are told that the que is 3 to 6 weeks out before I can begin construction on your order, please understand.

all the best.

Plastic Wasters

Postby Jonathan Mayshar » Wed Aug 27, 2008 6:14 pm

Good luck to Eric, and thanks for getting me started on plastic. If anyone out there wants to buy my "limited edition" wheel-pommel Winkler, the price is now $250! :-)

Seriously, though, I would like to take a shot at making some of these myself. Antonio Delgado down here in ARMA OC made a rough but nice sidesword, and I really liked Caspar's plastic dussack and dagger that I saw at the LV 1.0.

So does anyone out there have any tips on plastic suppliers (I prefer stiffer) and tool choices?

Hut!

Myself and another member of the Portland study group recently purchase a few nylons from Brian Hunt's workshop and I would personally endorse them. I never got a chance to handle Eric's With Intent Wasters, but I imagine they are close. There is also one other manufacturer that I researched and was interested in from the group Sala de Armas El Batallador, I believe they are in Spain so shipping cost might be a pain. Although the steel crossguard is a safety concern, I wonder if it helps the balance and shoulder construction at all. If anyone has tried this piece, let us know, I would be curious to hear about it.

Here they are on action on youtube.

How would someone get in touch with Erik? The website is a dead end.

WASTERS

Postby Don, ALFONSO DOCE » Sat Sep 13, 2008 4:57 am

Can anyone give me the a contact number for Eric E. Winkler. I used to fabricate the titanium weapons for Medieval Times and I am getting set up again with a waterjet an all kind of tools down in Mexico, I would like to talk to him about materials he uses for the wasters, I will be able to produce great numbers with little efort.
Thank You.
