Where to purchase shields?

Postby Steve Fitch » Thu Sep 11, 2008 5:40 pm

Can someone please suggest somewhere I could buy medieval style shields?

From good "cheap" to expensive is welcome. I know I could google this, but how does a beginner sift through the good and the bad with sooooo many sites?

Perhaps there is also a good site for "How to make a shield"?

Thanks all for your help.

There's a myArmoury forum thread that may help you a bit:

Viking Shield: www.viking-shield.com makes solid shields of the approximate dimensions of round shields that were in use throughout the middle ages and in some portions of the renaissance even, however, their selection is a little limited. Not all their designs are historical, but some of them are.
