Floryshing side effect: Grass annihilation

My mom has been getting annoyed that my flouryshing and training in our back yard has killed all the grass. What's worse, it doesn't seem to be growing back. It's a pretty small yard, so my movements are focused in a few square meters...

Has anyone else noticed their lawns getting permanently mowed by footwork, or have any solutions for it?

Yes I have definitely observed the killing of grass. Heck, where the DFW group practices has literally become a dust bowl because of it.

As for solutions? Enlighten your mom to the fact that she doesn't have to waste money and water maintaining the grass anymore. lol.

Make some friends and go and practice in their yard. :wink: The grass will grow back if you give it long enough.

My mom was considering getting a layer of those bricks with holes (whatever they're called), but I'm worried that's going to make the terrain dangerous to practice in.

Hm! Maybe some sort of plastic mesh! I just hope that it wouldn't get too slippery when wet.

Really??!! That's just too sad. We train in the park here all the time and have for years. Never a problem.

Don't have a driveway. I felt pretty lucky to own a yard as it is. :(

Neighbor's back yard is overgrown with trees. Might be a nut living there, actually. I have never seen him (her? them? it? I don't even know lol) before. Seriously.

We rent out a space in a parking lot nearby...hm! :idea:
Some cars in the lot were broken into recently so the landlord installed some security cameras.
Maybe I could offer services as a security guard old-school style and swing around every once in a while when on duty. If only I stole my uniform when I was still working with campus police...

I'm going to try suggesting plastic mesh with the friction points on them.

Can you join a gym or YMCA that has open floor space?
