Anyone in London?

Postby Jacob Collstrup » Fri Jul 03, 2009 2:56 am

Heya,

I might go to London in the fall for 1 semester of my studies...I was wondering if there is anyone in London to train with? If there is I'll hurry up and join the ARMA, else I'll prolly have to wait till February.

I just got hold of the book 'Medieval Swordmanship', by John Clement. Any advice for a total newbie?

A friend and I was talking about practicing together, but we don't have any practice swords. We thought about making some of our own, is that a good idea?

Making your own wasters is a fine idea...and it will save you $200. Look up Matt Easton in London. He's a decent fellow.

Whereabouts in London are you going? There are a few of us in the area covering different systems.

Schola Gladiatoria, The Exiles, Boars Tooth and The Company of Maisters are all London based.

The Company for Historical Combat, The Linacre School of Defense and The School of the Sword are all within travelling distance if the mood strikes you.

Actually I don't know where I'm going to live yet...I'm going to study abroad for my 9th semester and I decided to go to London. The deal with UCL is ok I think, but the living arrangements haven't been cleared yet. So sadly its still an 'if'.

No worries, just shout when you know and we'll sort you out with someone.

Its not official yet...but I don't think I'm going to London anyway. I think I was supposed to start on the 1st of september, but I still don't have a place to live. I set a deadline of 25th of august, if I haven't got a room/appartment and official enrollment at UCL I won't go. So as soon as its official I'll sign up at The Arma as a single student.

For the record, one of our classes is literally next to UCL and UCH.

Thanks for the pointer Shane and Randall.

Matt
