Hank Reinhardt - Book of the Sword

Postby Michael Moulton » Sun Aug 30, 2009 7:48 pm

Apparently this book was just released and I was a bit surprised not to see a thread about it here. What do we know about it? Anyone pick it up and have a review?

I like the book,

but it is not a book about how to fight with a sword, though he does address some of the basics for fighting with a sword. It is mostly a book about swords, their cross sections, types of swords and how swords wound someone. He has a section on cutting with the sword and how to test cut, he also wrote some about armour and shields. Overall it is a book filled with generalities and some specifics written from the point of view of a man who spent his life with swords. As a result of his writing style you get a feel for his personality and his love of swords.

Personally I am happy with the purchase. I think it is worth having on my bookshelf.

All the best.

Brian Hunt.

Thanks Brian. I've got it on my wish list, I'm sure I'll pick it up now that I know a bit more about it... only question is, paperback or hardcover? :D
