I live in San Jose, hope there can be an Bay Area club.

Isn't that sword over $300? I wouldn't invest in a Hanwei with that kind of money; if I were you I'd save up another $100 or so and get an Albion instead.

The albion is 490,the tinker is 265 on kult of athena,I think it's a great mid priced sword.

Gotcha. I just randomly searched it on google and didn't find it that cheap :P

sorry i have military drill weekend i couldn't go last weekend... i am really new to this.. books(Fighting with the German Longsword & The Beginner's Guide to the Long Sword) ordered from amazon isn't even here yet... planning to work on some solo drills first. :D

well... price isn't the only reason, I choose the H/T Longsword mainly because it weight at around 3lb, has a POB of 3.5" and a tapered blade shape, it seems to be an agile sword.

it also has a matching sharpened version (i got it too), has a blade replace design so you can obtain replacement blunt blades (at half of the sword cost) in case of future needs.

but the H/T blunt version still seems to have very narrow edges.. not sure is it safe to use... its my only blunt sword...
