New Member!

Postby Joshua Davis » Wed Jul 21, 2010 5:16 pm

Hi folks,

I am a brand spanking new member of The ARMA. I have been training with John Farthing and Aaron Kavli in Middle Tennessee for the past month or so and just had my first Member training session with them last week. I was excited with my white shirt but after red shirt, I'm hooked! John suggested that it would be a good idea to introduce myself to this community. Thank you all for the hard work that has gone into reclaiming this art. I hope to be a credit to the organization. Since I fight left-handed, John has said several times that I am uncomfortable to train with (and not just because I'm new!) Anyways, I'm VERY green but that's to be expected.

welcome Josh, I know yhou are in good hands there---you have an opportunity right now to work toward an extra excellence in battle---the ability to fight either side. If you take the time to learn all the skills right hand to match better with John while also practicing everything from your natural left, I believe you will like the results. I speak from experience as I have worked the opposite route since Jaron here is a lefty and I made the same effort whenever we could to train this way. Same goes for your solo time---give just as many counts of exercises to both sides and your body wil adapt

cheers
Keith, SA
