training

Postby lanecurington » Thu May 17, 2012 2:42 pm

I live in janesville wisconsin and am really interested in a school or person(s) in the area to start training with. Just joined the site with a log-in, and am very glad there is something like this out there. I've had some experience in martial arts including jeet-kun-do where we did some weapons training and that was really fun. Looking forward to having fun, getting exercise and learning a real combat skill. Thanks to anyone who replies!

Welcome to the forum. Not sure where Janesville is, but we've got groups in Appleton, Milwaukee and Minneapolis (Twin Cities) up there, so at least one of them ought to be in driving distance. Our Deputy Director runs the Appleton study group. Look them up on our Practice Partners page and contact whichever one's closest about attending a practice session sometime to get started. You're in a great area to learn from some of our best up there, so take advantage of it!

training partners

Thank you so much! FYI all of these cities are 1.5 hours or more away as I am fairly close to the Illinois border in central WI. Was hoping for something closer and/or setting up with a group of newcomers around here. Thank you, Lane.

Well they may not be close enough for regular practice, but they can certainly help you get started on your training and give you tips for recruiting practice partners in your area. And 1.5 hours away isn't so bad. Here in Houston that's... the other side of Houston.
