Brian Hunt from Utah makes those sparring helms. He also makes some nice bucklers out of the same material. Both are awesome, and worth buying.
Now where to get the money.... <img src="/forum/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />

Hi Jeff,

I beleive that only the Longsword section of Meyer has a publicly availible translation, and that is the one you have already seen. There are a couple of places on the web where you can obtain a transcription, or a copy of the orginal german text, but that is all that is availible to the best of my knowledge.

As for the Plastic Sparring helm, I am the one who made Jakes. If you want to discuss prices, send me a private message. If you look at the Photos from the Ogden 1.0 you can see photos of two other of my helmets in the sparring photos section. The Ugly one was my prototype, and the other one is my latest one and it is based upon a close helm.

Hey Derrek, thanks for the plug. When your ready, let me know. <img src="/forum/images/icons/smile.gif" alt="" />

Even if I don't speak German (either modern or old), I was wondering if you could provide a link to the full Meyer book (not just the longsword stuff). Maybe I can work from the pictures and find someone to translate.

Even though rapier is not my interest, and I could really offer no insight to that area, I find it odd that Meyer's rapier section is basically ignored by many who profess great interest in that weapon. Just an observation. JH

Thanks. I have sent him an email requesting the full translated thing. We are getting great use (and much head scratching on some things, but he is far less cryptic than other masters) from Meyer's longsword section.
