hard to find

Simple as it may seem: I´m looking for a compreensive database on medieval weapons and armor. Images descriptions, historical background, practical uses, that kind of information. I can´t find nothing satisfying, only sites dedicated to sales and such, so if anyone here can help I´d appreciate it

I've been working on a databse of ancient weapons and armor for about 5 years. I think you will find it is difficult to find a single accurate comprehensive source. There is a good basic overview of medieval and Renaissance swords here on the ARMA site and a good database of photographs of antique weapons at http://www.myarmoury.com, though the photographs are not documented. Their forums are a good place to get information about period weapons and armor, though you may sift through a variety of data with different levels of value.

I could probably answer any specific question you might have as well. I'd be glad to help.

This link may be of help to you. There are a number of bitmap images from the churburg catalogs here. The site is a little slow because bitmaps are large.

Thanks for the help. "myarmory" is a good site with lots of info. The other link I couldn´t access unfortunatly but thanks anyway. If anyone wants to keep helping I´m all ears.

The link I posted can be hard to get to, the first time I tried, it took me a week of regular attempts to get access. Once you get in, I reccomend downloading all the pictures.
