Hi Aaron,
My opinion and feelings on this topic are well known.
I suggest connecting with member Ray Brunk in NY area and see what you might come up with together. He started a piece on this for us sometime back. It would be nice to have this as another training resource for members.

p.s.
As many of our members have also commented, what surprises me is how physically poor several instructors (and their senior students) out there appear. I guess maybe the "soft and slow" approach is naturally popular among the "play and display" crowd. Guess some just follow a different path.

The gambeson is made by revival clothing, I bought it second-hand from a guy in Minnestoa who has three full harnesses! The bascinet from Jaron when I was there for the 1.0-
The steel bracers are from museum replicas.
The blunt is made by heimrick, (it's not pretty but I abuse that thing everyday and it takes it without much sign of wear).
The wrist weights you can get at shields they come in 3lb, 4lb or 5lb increments and are perfect for fencing practice, they are like gloves and do not slide around on you- Aaron
