I think I get what you are saying.

In the specific interest of reviving historical methods as researchers rather than being a western version of the All-Japan Kendo Federation, you pick those best suited to that role.

Much like a group of medical scientists trying to cure cancer would look for those most suited rather than a master brain surgeon, even though he must be said to be a great medical doctor in his own field.


Perhaps this is something for you guys to write an article on. Explaining how ARMA is primarily about the research, rather than being just another kind of spare-time martial art practice.
