Hey Philippe

Like i said when i realy commit to the zwerch normaly i come from just out of range and if i comitt to the zwerch i have the vor there zorn doesn't get that far before i hit them.

Isn't that the point of taking the initiative to hit them before they hit you, so then what they do is of no concern to me if i have the vor and have set myself for advantage i win isn't that the point of the zwerch.

My understnading was that you extended your arms forward.
it is the case, you are striking from a one step strike range (you need one pass forward to it your oppoenent)
If that is the case and If your oppoenet is in a static possition, your oppoent if any good will always be able to conter your swerch.
there is no problem for us to start in the nach and hit our oppoenet hence gainingf the Vor. If we cand do it is so can our oppoenent. <img src="/forum/images/icons/wink.gif" alt="" />

starting in the vor does not guaranty that you will end up int it.
(though you should move so that the obve statment is true)

i do extend my arm's forward from my right in a horizontal strike to my left (zwerch=horizotal short edge in my muddled brain), i do not pass forward i traverse(with a large=leap/step) to my right, there is much less power in a zwerch that is straight forward and it also doesn't set you for advantage, i try though most of the time unsuccessfuly to get off line, so that way when i strike if they counter they have to adjust first to my movement then counter, in this way they have to constantly fight at the range i want, and adjust themselve's for the range they want it also help's me to control the tempo of the fight.

My leap/step may be larger than most i am 6 foot and fairly light weight so that might be part of why it work's for me my step maybe unusualy large.
