I want to buy a sword

Postby Andrés Jiménez » Wed Mar 30, 2005 6:22 pm

Hello,
I'd like to buy a good sword, but I found a lot of manufacturers that said it's swords are battle-ready. But I had tried some of them and were fakes: poor balanced, excesive weighted and a, at least, doubtful steel... ornamental swords.
I'm really confused about it, and I'd like that you recommend me a good manufacturer.
Thank you in advance.

I would suggest Albion. I have one and am quite fond of it. I have yet to hear anyone who owns one complain about theirs.

I second that, they have great customer service, they work quickly to get it to you, and the workmanship is great. I got my Crecy in about 1 1/2 weeks, and love it.
Thanks, Bill

John Clements has a fantastic article on this topic which can be found here:

Also its a really good idea to ask around when you have an eye for something. Between the lot of us we have encountered most of the reputable dealers (as well as the shady ones) and could help in that reguard.

I just got my Albion Squire. I love it. Best sword for the price IMO

I have four swords from Albion Armorers and I find them to be among the best production swords on the market today. If your looking for historically accurate weapons that look and perform like the originals they're definately the way to go.
