Tullahoma, TN needs study group leader

Postby Denise Smith » Mon Jun 26, 2006 7:22 am

We currently have two adults and three youth members in Tullahoma, TN and one adult in Murfreesboro, TN. We need an experienced study group leader/ facilitator. We all really enjoyed the seminar Jake hosted (08/20/05) in Clarksville. (WOW, has it been nearly a year?) We haven't gotten together since Kat had to leave us last Fall/Winter (we miss you).
I am still trying to work with the youth members by encouraging them to read the vast array of information on the website. With it being summer break they are less 'studious' than last summer. I will continue to read, learn and hopefully practice as much as possible.

If there are any other members in our area that would like to get together once or twice a month please let me know.

Hi Denise!

You are all still in the 'boro area? I'm returning in less than 3 months, at which point I expect to hold large, open gatherings like the ones you attended last year (that wasn't a seminar...*those* are impressive) about twice a month. I wasn't aware that Kat left, either (did she move to Atlanta? She had been discussing it).

There's also the Welch clan at ARMA Knoxville...I'm not sure how much farther that is, but they love to train and they've got a great little "sword camp" set up on their horse farm.

Have you all submitted ARMA membership applications yet? Or thought about attending one of John Clements' seminars in the Atlanta area? Those things will all help get you further along.

I remember meeting some of the folks from Knoxville... great bunch! It is a bit far for us right now. My Son and I are members. McKinley is 16 now, as are the other two young men that came up to your place with me. I have been doing the reading but not much physical training lately. Bobby from Murfreesboro is the same way, as he has had back trouble. There is one other from Tullahoma (Jared) and he too wants to train with us again.
I spoke to John about a youth event down at his place... the guys want to do more training here first before we try that. They feel that they would be wasting John's time because they don't know enough yet. I tried to tell them he could do a beginners class... we'll see. Maybe after they have a chance to work with you again they will feel more confident.
Kat didn't say goodbye, I heard through John that she is in Atlanta area.

We would love to.

Jake did the same and came all the way from Murfreesboro to get us started.

We are just paying it back.

Hello Jake, David, and Greetings to Denise Smith:

I am still in the Nashville area (though perhaps not for too much longer) and would certainly be interested in being involved in any future gatherings.

I was training with Kat from time to time up through last year, though I was not aware that she had moved. She had broken her finger at one point, so we had to suspend our practice sessions, and I never heard back from her.

Anyway, please keep me in mind!

Dan

Dan, I enjoyed training with you and I hope we get to do it again. If you are ever back in this area, let me know.

Good luck in TX! :D
