Using Epee for a rapier trainer.

Postby Sal Bertucci » Fri Jul 18, 2008 5:50 pm

Hey everyone,

There's a local youth group in the area, and they are interested in starting something up. They had a fencing camp a year or two ago, and so they have some epees. What are everyones opinions about using epees as a rapier trainer? I know that epee is the stiffest of the sport fencing blades, but I don't know how they will work for rapier tactics.

Epee's are a little short to be rapiers. The blades do ok as a small sword trainer, but not a rapier.

all the best.
