New to Western Swordsmanship, where to start?

Postby T. Roy McKigney » Wed Sep 30, 2009 11:20 am

Greetings. I am a college student living out in the Huntsville area of Texas, and the Houston study groups are a bit far for me. I haven't done any swordwork, and only a little bit of knifework from what combatives were taught to me for my own defense (mainly how to avoid getting stabbed by an attacker) and would like to study the longsword for a while.

I have already submitted an application for membership, but I do not know if/when it will be accepted. I do wish to start work on learning the langsword, and was wondering if there were any good English language/translated manuals availible online for such a use.

Thank you,
Thomas

Even if the Houston study groups are too far for going every week, it would help quite a bit to make it out every now and then.
