Some comments on other threads have brought to remembrance some thoughts that I have had on the subject.
In talking with other individuals I have heard it argued that RMA is an expensive subject to enter into. To this I very much disagree. Especially when compared to other sports such as Golf or Hockey.
I believe that it is comparatively cheap to enter into when compared to console games as well, where there is an initial $300 buy in just to get started.
For the serious student I don't feel that pulling the funds together to get started is an insurmountable, or even a difficult task. Nor is getting quality equipment.
Granted you might need to pass one hobby over for the other, but that is life.
Now, everyone's equipment needs are different. Some might want 2 of everything, while others might not be sure how "into this" they are, and
want to enter in at the lowest level to see if they like it.
Either way my advise is the same: You should get the highest quality equipment that fits you budget. If this turns into something that you really want to do then you need to move to "Top Tier" equipment when it is financially responsible to do so.
